HANCOCK, John (1737-1793). Partly-printed document signed ("John Hancock") as Governor of Massachusetts, [Boston,] 21 September 1790.

One page, 319 x 390mm, with intact paper and wax seal affixed at top right (a few spots of soiling and foxing).

John Hancock appoints Ebenezer Weeks as a "Captain of a Company in the second Regiment third Brigade and fifth division of the militia of this Commonwealth comprehending the Counties of Plimouth, Barnstable, Bristol, Dukes County & Nantucket." A fine, clean example of Hancock's signature.
