Pasi's important manual of merchant mathematics and reference; third edition, revised and updated. This work contains tables for use in Mediterranean and Near Eastern trade, coving weights, measures, currency, and prices for hundreds of goods from gold to vegetables. It allowed Italian merchants to easily trade with cities from Rome to Constantinople, and presents a vivid picture of trade networks and the volume and variety of goods being exchanged throughout the Mediterranean area. Because it was a portable pocketbook, few copies have survived. The first edition was printed in Venice in 1503, again in 1521, and also in 1540. The final edition appeared in 1557. Adams P-374; Kress 51; Smith, Rara Arithmetica, 79.

Octavo (154 x 104mm). Title within woodcut architectural border (a few stains). 19th-century stiff vellum , yapp edges (spine worn and darkened).
