First edition of John Kennedy's stirring tribute to his fallen brother. Privately printed, first issue with the red aviator wings on the title page. Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. died tragically in August 1945 when the bomber he was piloting exploded over the English Channel. To honor his memory, John Kennedy solicited reminiscences from various family and friends to publish in this illustrated volume. The book was given as a Christmas gift in 1945 to members of the Kennedy family and those who were close to Joe. Scarce. The first edition was printed in 360 copies.

Octavo (229 x 147mm). Red publisher's cloth lettered in gilt (small dampstain at foot of spine visible on endpapers).
