The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to the catalogue description: - the sheet fractionally reduced in height and width (approx. 10 x 7 mm.), slightly irregular at the lower right sheet edge. - a ink loss at the lower sheet edge, in the shadow below the collar (approx. 24 x 40 mm.), made up in pen and ink. - a diagonal crease at the lower right corner (approx. 180 mm.). - a few tiny ink stains on the left eyebrow. - a few scuffs on the face in places. - time staining at the sheet edges. - some short repaired tears at the lower sheet edge (the longest 22 mm.) - several tiny nicks and paper losses at the sheet edges, with occasional associated ink losses, a few backed and repaired. - a short tear at the upper right sheet edge (approx. 8 mm.). - some cracks in places, mostly at the lower right and lower sheet edge, - backboard staining, occasional moisture stains at the sheet edges on the reverse (one with tiny traces of mould, at the lower sheet edge). - other minor defects. Otherwise as described.
