The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to the catalogue description: - the full sheets, some with deckle edges. - watermarks VAN GELDER ZONEN or Fleur-de-Lys in a Cartouche under Crown with pendant Letters VGZ. - each print within its original thin card mount, hinged with glacine hinges at the right or upper corners verso. - some sheets with very minor light-staining. - a few sheets with an occasional, very pale foxmark in the margin. - some sheets with minor handling marks or small creases. - these defects are all very unobtrusive, the prints are all generally in very good condition. - the title page, text and table of contents on ARCHES MBM wove. - the title page with some pale mottled foxing and slight cockling. - the text page and table of contents with time staining at the sheet edges, some minor handling creases. - all within the original sand-coloured linen-covered card folder with the artist's name, title and publishing date and publisher's address in red on the front. - the folder stained and with some wear at the extremeties, the flaps partially split on the inside, lacking the ribbon. Otherwise as described and generally in very good condition.
