The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- with wide margins, and a deckle edge at two sides.
- with time-staining, predominantly at the sheet edges.
- a flattened diagonal crease (220 mm.) at the upper right corner.
- two flattened creases (50 mm. and smaller) at the left sheet edge and lower left corner.
- handling creases in the margins and smaller creases at the sheet edges (mainly visible in a raking light).
- time-staining and some small areas of localised brown staining verso, not visible recto.
