The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- the colours fresh and bright.
- with paper bag manufacturer's stamp on the reverse.
- with the usual horizontal folds (inherent in the mounting)
- overall pale time-staining.
- with some areas of unobtrusive rubbing, mostly visible in raking light.
- some surface dirt mainly in the margins.
- a printing flaw below the can, with some of the text missing.
