The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- horizontal line in the text of 'What' , possibly a printing defect
- occasional, unobtrusive light rubbing and pale handling marks in the matte black ink, above the subject's left shoulder.
- the sheet tightly hinged and spot glued in places along the sheet edges, the reverse of the sheet therefore only partially examined.
