The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- the full sheet.
- nine thin vertical lines of ink loss in the subject's hair (the longest 75 mm.), with retouching.
- two small areas of cracking to the printed surface upper left corner, circa 40 mm. and 10 mm., with retouching.
- some small ink losses and surface abrasions in places at the upper and lower sheet edges.
- minor rubbing in the subject's hair, on the right side of his head.
- a 60 mm. horizontal crack to the yellow ink above the left shoulder.
- some soft creasing in the upper left and right sheet corners (mainly visible in a raking light).
- the sheet with some cockling (mainly visible in a raking light).
- spot-glued in various places and hinged with paper tape at the sheet edges verso (as a result the reverse of the sheet partially examined).
