The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to the catalogue entry:
- the full sheet.
- some fine and unobtrusive cracks to the screenprint in places, only visible in a raking light:
- a few thin cracks above the left eyebrow (longest approx. 50 mm.).
- a small area (approx. 40 x 10 mm.) of a few curved cracks next to the left ear.
- a small area (approx. 40 x 6 mm.) with some horizontal cracks at the upper left sheet edge in the black, with a small (approx. 3 x 5 mm.) associated area lifting of the screenprint in the outer line of the subject's hair where the screenprint is slightly lifting.
- at the upper right corner there are some very tiny losses of the upper grey layer at the extreme edge of the image, with the lower grey layer showing through (possibly associated with the production).
- a couple of fine and unobtrusive hairs within the printed surface, one to the lower left of the moustache, and one at the edge of the left ear (only visible with a raking light).
- paper hinges along the sheet edges verso.
Otherwise as described and generally in very good condition.
