The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- a fine handling crease (circa 4cm.) near the upper sheet edge above the subject’s hat, with some minor associated ink loss, skillfully retouched.
- soft creasing at the upper and lower left sheet corners, with associated ink loss, skillfully retouched.
- some rubbing in the purple garment.
- some tiny ink losses at the extreme sheet edges, as is common with this print.
- the sheet slightly cockled.
- an old glue stain, circa 17 x 9cm. verso (not showing through recto).
- some minor surface skinning at the sheet corners verso, associated with the removal of previous tape hinges.
