The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- the full sheet.
- the red and orange slightly attenuated.
- several areas of retouching (?) in the white, mainly around or within the text.
- several circular moisture stains in the upper half of the image, visible in the silver, red and orange.
- some fine scratches in the silver.
- some handling indentations and indentations at the sheet edges from hinges verso (mainly visible in a raking light).
- two short repaired tears (4 mm.) at the extreme lower left sheet edge.
- remains of fabric hinges on the reverse and hinged with paper tape at various places along the edges verso; the reverse therefore only partially examined.
