The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- the metallic blue ink faded to grey.
- a forked scratch (circa 40 mm and 12 mm) in the lower right image (on the subject's right cheek).
- minor ink losses at the the upper and lower sheet edges, and the tips of the upper and lower left corners.
- two creases along the lower left sheet edge and lower sheet edge at left, respectively.
- some minor scuffs in the black areas.
