The Nun:

- the lilac square and the pink at right attenuated (visible at the sheet edges where covered by a previous frame)
- some minor rubbing at the sheet edges, and in places in the matt black, mainly visible in a raking light
- a short and unobtrusive 15 mm. scratch at the upper left sheet edge in the black with the orange showing through
- some unobtrusive tiny white specks on the surface at lower right

With Hat:
Image & Sheet 962 x 961 mm.
- the reds of the jacket attenuated (visible at the sheet edges where covered by a previous frame), and the blue very slightly attenuated (mainly visible under UV)
- a short crease at the extreme lower left corner with some tiny ink loss
- a tiny crease at the extreme upper right sheet edge, mainly visible in a raking light

- each with paper hinges on the reverse at places along the sheet edges, the reverse therefore unexamined
