The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- with full margins.
- a pale yellowish halo showing in correspondence of the printed area, due to the oils of the ink (as is common and intrinsic with this process)
- some stray printing visible in the margins.
- the sheet with some pale time-staining.
- a flattened crease (40 mm.) at the tip of the upper left sheet corner.
- some minor handling creases in the margins, mainly visible in a raking light.
- hinged with paper tape at places along the sheet edges verso, the reverse therefore unexamined.
