The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- the full sheets.
- the printed surface in very good condition.
- a pale, yellowish halo showing in correspondance of the printed areas, verso and showing through recto, due to the oils of the ink (as is common and intrinsic to the process).
- occasional pinpoint white efflorescences in places on the printed surface.
- the sheets slightly cockled (as is common).
- some sheets with soft handling creases.
- occasional paper inclusions (intrinsic to the paper).
- the sheets hinged at the upper edge with verso (occasionally showing through).
