- a 295 mm. tear from the lower sheet edge at centre to the lower dark shoreline.
- a circa 200 mm. tear or paper split near the left sheet edge below the mill, touched in with pale green watercolour.
- thee abraded areas in the upper right of the subject, the largest measuring circa 10 x 30 mm.
- a circa 35 mm. long paper split near the right sheet edge at centre.
- a circa 60 mm. vertical tear at the lower sheet edge at left.
- a few other minor tears and paper splits elsewhere.
- inscribed with the number 15.230 in pencil at lower left.
- another number in pencil at lower right sheet edge, partially trimmed off.
