The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- the full sheet.
- laid to a heavy Japan paper support.
- the colours slightly attenuated, particularly the red on the cap and shirt of the jockey at left, and on the central flag.
- a tiny paper loss at the upper right sheet tip.
- the lower left sheet tip taped to the support recto.
- occasional scattered pale foxing mainly near the sheet edges.
Otherwise as described and generally in good condition.
