The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- the full sheet, with a deckle edge above and below.
- the sheet previously rolled, with some resultant flattened creasing.
- a flattened 50 mm. horizontal crease in the centre of the image, with resultant pink ink loss.
- a diagonal flattened crease (70 mm.) at the lower left corner.
- numerous skillfully, repaired nicks at the extreme lower sheet edge.
- four skillfully repaired tears in the upper margin, with the longest (110 mm.) extending into the image.
- the colours attenuated.
- the sheet unevenly time-stained recto, with paler, uneven time-staining verso.
- scuffs and skinning from old hinging verso.

East:
- the full sheet, with a deckle edge above and below.
- the sheet previously rolled, with some resultant flattened creasing, predominantly visible in the lower margin and in the silver.
- three skillfully repaired tears in the lower margin (the longest 35 mm.).
- a flattened vertical crease (100 mm.) at the upper left corner.
- the colours attenuated.
- the sheet unevenly time-stained recto, with paler, uneven time-staining verso.
