The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- the full sheet, with a deckle edge below.
- the sheet with some pale, uneven time-staining (mostly visible in the margins) and scattered foxing across the sheet, recto and verso.
- some soft handling marks visible in the upper and lower margins (mainly visible in a raking light).
- small areas of pale brown staining at the upper centre and lower right of the composition.
- two pinpoint holes at the extreme left and right of the composition, presumably caused from the registration of the work.
