The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- presumably the full sheet, with a deckle edge at right.
- with light- and time staining, and some scattered foxing across the sheet.
- a short tear (10 mm.) at the lower left sheet edge.
- some hard handling creases at the left sheet edge, with other soft handling creases in the margins (mainly visible in a raking light).
- some minor surface dirt near the sheet edges.
- areas of the signature and numbering very slightly smudged.
- two pinpoint holes at the extreme left and right of the composition, presumably caused from the registration of the work.
