The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- a few pale minor stains in places, a few sheets with pale time staining at the extreme sheet edges.
- a few sheets very slightly toned.
- some soft creasing at the lowers corners of the sheets (some slightly more accentuated), occasionally in the margins.
- one sheet with a horizontal fold at the extreme lower edge.
- the linen portfolio with some wear and staining in places.
- the hand-painting on the portfolio cover very thick.
