The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- pale time-staining visible in the margins, predominantly near the sheet edges.
- a very pale foxspot in front of seated woman's nose.
- the signature in pencil very slightly smudged.
- the upper sheet edge with light cockling.
- hinged with paper tape at the upper sheet corners verso.
