The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- unobtrusive pinpoint foxspots visible recto and verso.
- a skillfully repaired tear (80 mm.) extending from the upper right sheet edge into the composition, mainly visible in a raking light.
- a flattened, diagonal crease in the upper left sheet corner (10 mm.).
- a pinhead size paper flaw (thinning) in the unprinted area of the minotaur's right arm.
- time-staining and surface dirt verso.
- hinged with tape at the upper sheet edge and with remains of tape along the lower sheet edge verso.
