The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:

- pale mount-staining.
- occasional pale foxing visible in the unprinted areas on the cheeks, neck and striped blouse, and in the margins.
- soft handling creasing, at the low right corner, and in places at the left sheet edge.
- a tiny 3mm. tear at the lower centre edge.
- pale back-board staining, minor dirt and foxing verso.
