13 volumes, various sizes. Many in publisher’s bindings, some with original dust jackets, slip covers or archival boxes. Includes texts in English and French.
The Rothschild family were among the foremost patrons and collectors of the twentieth century. Initially, Mrs. Wrightsman’s interiors à la française were considered controversial, especially during a period when British furniture was in vogue in American. The arrival of Rothschild émigrés to New York validated Mrs. Wrightsman’s aesthetic vision and cemented the transatlantic style in the American imagination.
