ROXBURGH CLUB – Group of books on or published by the Roxburghe Club, from Mrs. Wrightsman’s personal library, some presentation copies. 20-21st centuries.

24 volumes, various sizes. Many with original publisher’s bindings, some with original dust jackets, slip covers or archival boxes.
The Roxburghe Club is the oldest bibliographic society in the world, limiting members to 40 at a time. Mrs. Wrightsman was the club’s 337th member, presented to the club in 2007. She oversaw the production of 289 volumes during her tenure. For her membership, Mrs. Wrightsman presented the club with a facsimile of Edme-Louis Debans’ richly decorated petitions to King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette for promotion to lieutenant-colonelcy, a manuscript which she acquired in 1963 from the Baron Maurice de Rothschild.
