Second edition of "the first American book on mills and milling machines and a landmark of early American technology" (Federal Hundred). This edition comes from the press of Francis Bailey, who learned the art of printing at the Ephrata Cloister with Peter Miller. Octavo (208 x 129mm). 26 engraved plates, 2 of which folding (dampstained, one folding plate with tear at fold). Contemporary sheep (joints starting, front joint quite tender, worn). Custom chemise and slipcase.
