Zuzek was interested in the history of textiles, especially tapestries from the medieval period. In this watercolor, figures in medieval dress stand on a tiered platform, or 'estrade', surrounded by Gothic architecture.

In overall good condition and ready to hang. Please note that these original watercolors became designs used in print-making and may contain holes, notations and/or other interesting marks. With light discoloration and surface staining throughout. With rough cut left, right, and lower edge. With scattered pieces of tape and tape remains to the extreme edges. With three hole punches along the lower edge, each 5⁄16 in. in diameter. With scattered registration pinholes throughout, one of which with a minor tear.
