The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas, stretcher and attachments are in generally good condition. There is minor rubbing and soft handling marks to the extreme edges. There is a pinpoint brown accretion in the upper centre area. Examination under ultraviolet light shows no indication of inpainting. Subject to the foregoing, it is in our view that this work appears to be in overall very good condition.
