New York Care’s programs address poverty with three main goals (1) to meet immediate needs, such as providing meals to the hungry, (2) to improve educational outcomes for NYC students and adults, and 3) revitalize NYC's invaluable public spaces. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they are currently providing on-the-ground volunteer programs such as meal preparation and delivery to food insecure and homebound New Yorkers. Additionally, they have started a virtual volunteer program including virtual citizenship preparation, virtual yoga for elementary school students, online current events discussion groups for seniors who are blind or low vision, and more.
