Lot Essay

Grand Lange 1 Lumen was released by in SIHH 2013. All cased in platinum, it is the very first wristwatch that displays with a luminous date by the renowned German brand.

The sapphire crystal dial is specially coated which blocks most of the visible light spectrum but UV light. this allows the luminous material of the date disc to be charged. In order to ensure the date is still luminous even after it has been switched immediately, the luminous material is coated directly on the 10/20/30 disc where the 0-9 disc is seperated and displayed above another white background which was coated with luminous compound.

With all the innovation the Grand Lange 1 Lumen still retains the classic design as of a Lange 1 with the identical layout. Limited to 200 pieces, the present timepiece a must-have one for watch collectors and enthusiasts.
