Lot Essay

The present watch still retains his protective platinum links at 12 and 6, almost always lost with time.

The “Tourbillon Automatique” model was launched in 1986, at the time believed to be the world's thinnest and smallest self-winding tourbillon movement. It was furthermore the first tourbillon carriage in the history of mechanical watches made of titanium. The slimness of the case design results from the use of the back plate of the movement as the case back, resulting in the height of only 4.8 mm including the gold case. The texture on the dial is modelled on Egyptian mythological symbols.

The present watch is believed to be one of only 23 cased in platinum, bearing No. 13 on its case.
