Reference 7928 Tudor Oyster-Prince Submariner "crown guard" reference 7928 series, launched in 1959. The "twin" of Rolex Submariner ref. 5513, it was equipped with the same bezel and was able to withstand water pressure to 200 m. (660 ft). Reference 7928 was available with different types of crown guards, the dials always featured the Tudor rose symbol followed by "Oyster Prince" to the upper half, the lower half generally the depth rating 200m=660ft, Submariner, Rotor, Self-Winding on four lines. The model was fitted with the celebrated "Auto-Prince" calibre 390, a 17 jewels movement developed by Rolex in the 1950s for Tudor. As reliable as their "sisters" signed Rolex but available at a lower price, Tudor diver's watches were the brand of choice of many armed forces, particularly certain units of the French, the Argentine and the US Navy.
