A Group of Six Tsuba
Edo period (19th century), one sentoku tsuba Meiji-Taisho period (late 19th-early 20th century)
1. A round shakudo tsuba of nanako-ji ground, applied with high-relief inlay of oxen, gilt details, with signature Goto Etsujo
2. A rounded square iron tsuba, decorated in silver and copper high-relief inlay and gilt with a dragonfly and leaves
3. A round iron tsuba, carved and inlaid in high-relief with silver, depicting cranes by a stream beneath bamboo, gilt details
4. A lobed mokko copper tsuba, carved and inlaid in high-relief with a snail ascending pine, silver and gilt details, with signature Otsuryuken Miboku Masayoshi
5. A sentoku [brass] tsuba, carved in high-relief with a dragon-like Fujin [god of wind], details in gilt, copper and shakudo, signed Hyoan shujin koku of Koizumi Katsuchika, a pupil of Hagiya Shohei
6. A round copper tsuba, engraved with a figure on a veranda of a rural house, silver, shakudo and gilt details
Sizes range from 6.8cm. – 8.5cm. diam.
