The foliate-rimmed dishes decorated in underglaze blue with a ho-o bird perched on a branch of chrysanthemum issuing from rockwork within a circular panel surrounded by a band of stylised fruiting plants and foliage, chocolate rim, the reverse with scrolling karakusa design, the base with a Chinese style inscription Dai min seika nen sei
