The two-doored case decorated in black lacquer with gilt copper fittings engraved with scrolling foliage, the door fittings formed as plum blossoms, the gilt interior reveals Kannon Bosatsu standing on a lotus and a carved mandorla (halo) behind, the byakugo [whirl of hair in the centre of the forehead], the figure holding a flask and wearing a gilt metal crown and breast ornament with stones
