A study collection of thirty Nabeshima dishes and related wares with various designs
Edo-Heisei period (19th -20th century)
A group of thirty dishes of various sizes, each decorated in iron red and various coloured enamels on underglaze blue unless otherwise stated, with various designs:

1. weeping cherry tree and wooden pontoon, the reverse with peony and scrolling foliage, the ring foot with comb design, Edo period (19th century), 32.1cm. diam.
2. peonies and chrysanthemums with the pale celadon ground, the reverse with peony and scrolling foliage, the ring foot with lappet design, Meiji period (20th century), 34.6cm. diam.
3. decorated in underglaze blue with butterflies flying amongst waves, the reverse with peony, the ring foot with shippo design, Meiji period (late 19th century), 33.7cm. diam.
4. two hares above seigaiha [stylised wave design] in a frame in the shape of peach, surrounded by cherry blossoms, the reverse with flower sprays, the ring foot with comb design, Meiji period (late 19th–early 20th century), 31.6cm. diam.
