Three Small Hirado Bowls
Edo period (early 19th century)
Each of compressed bulb form with wide, circular mouth and short ring foot, decorated in underglaze blue:

The first with five karako [Chinese children] playing in a garden, circumferential rings around and inside the ring foot;

The second with a figure resting in a landscape with chrysanthemums and silver glasses, stylised water and pine, the bands of stylised wave design around the rim and the foot;

The third with three karako cheerfully chasing butterflies in a landscape with pine and other plants, a band of ruyi heads around the rim, circumferential rings around and inside the ring foot
1st - 8cm. diam., 2nd - 8.8cm. diam., 3rd - 7.5cm. diam.
