This edition of 100 was divided into three groupings printed with different background colors: light blue for the first third, dark blue for the second third, and black for the last third, although no documentation of the exact numbering sequences exists in archive or workshop records. Artist's proof impressions were printed on white and buff Rives BFK papers. The artist's proofs were also printed with light blue, dark blue, or black backgrounds, along with a fourth version containing no background plate. There are additional color variances in the trial proofs that depart from both the edition and artist's proof impressions.
