The 2016 Wimbledon Championships started in impressive fashion for Roger Federer as he defeated Pella, Willis, Evans and Johnson in straight sets to reach the second week of the Grand Slam. Roger would then face long-term rival Marin Čilić in a famous quarter-final which went to a final set decider which Federer won 6-3. Roger couldn’t repeat the trick in the semi-final however, losing out to Canadian Milos Raonic in another five set epic. Roger would have to wait one more year for his record-breaking victory.
