As in the previous year, Roger Federer hit top form for the Wimbledon Championships and it would take an impressive performance from Novak Djokovic in the final to stop him from winning a record-breaking eighth Wimbledon title. Roger lost only one set en route to the final, defeating home favourite Andy Murray in the semi-final along the way. Djokovic eventually triumphed 7–6, 6–7, 6–4, 6–3 to win his 3rd Wimbledon title.
