Lot Essay

Trained as a painter in Paris under André Lhote and Alber Gleizes, both Cubists, Evie Hone went on to specialise in stained glass design, particularly for churches, reconciling her twin passions of art and religion.
The present drawing is a design for the Beatitudes window at St Stanislaus College, Tullabeg, Co. Offaly, a project which was finished in 1946.
