Lot Essay
Trained as a painter in Paris under André Lhote and Alber Gleizes, both Cubists, Evie Hone went on to specialise in stained glass design, particularly for churches, reconciling her twin passions of art and religion. The present drawing is a design for the Beatitudes window at St Stanislaus College, Tullabeg, Co. Offaly, a project which was finished in 1946. Post Lot Text Artist's Resale Right Regulations 2006 apply to this lot. You must pay us an extra amount equal to the resale royalty and we will pay the royalty to the appropriate authority. Please see the Conditions of Sale for further information.

Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The sheet is not laid down, and is taped into an acidic top mount, from which we would advise removal. There is some slight cockling to the sheet, and a scratch on the centre left of the paper. The colours are fresh and strong.
