The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In good condition overall.
The leather used is probably second half 18th century and reused.
There are the inevitable marks, chips and scratches consistent with age and use.
Some fading to the gilding overall.
The leather fairly worn with some craquelure and rubbing, particularly to the 'spine'.
The gilt-paper by the hook is worn.
Some foxing to the paper lining of the interior.
Otherwise in good order and ready to use.
