The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Some scratches and wear throughout, consistent with age and handling; scattered minor kiln imperfections, in the making, including several short firing cracks at the foot and three small glaze losses over kiln stilt marks at the interior, from removal from the kiln; overall with with scattered small glaze flakes, frits and small chips; the lizard possibly a replacement or addition, its tail broken in four places and restuck with plaster replacement, its toes and claws with a fair amount of chips and flakes, two of its wrists broken and restuck; approx. ¹⁄₄ of the rim previously off and in three pieces, reattached with some associated touch-up; several chips around the foot; a small drill-hole (approx. ¹⁄₈ in. diameter) into the underside, near the center.
