The arms engraved on this box are on the left those of the Pujol Bon de La Grave, from the Languedoc area in France.
Meanwhile the female figure chased on the cover appears to be that of Jeanne Bécu, Comtesse du Barry (1743-1793), Louis XV, King of France last maîtresse-en-titre.
