The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The bust with crisp carved details which still remain sharp and in excellent condition. The stone ‘yellowed’ with age and while uniform and pleasing in appearance, might benefit from a cleaning. A repaired break at the neck – most particularly visible under the neck and barely visible from straight on. A repaired break to his proper left shoulder – with several small chipped losses only visible from behind to the back of his shoulder and halfway down. Several other cracks across the front of his chest at the base. The later base with chipped losses to the edge at the top of the granite column and the ormolu with surface dirt.
