The beaker tulip-form with flared rim, on a gadrooned spreading foot, the body applied with molded rib and engraved with a coat-of-arms under a earl's coronet, the cup and cover plain faceted and applied with acanthus leaves at rim, with harp-form handles capped with flowerheads, the cover with roped rim and raised center with dove finial, the saucer applied with a frieze of acanthus leaves and engraved Tendresse paternelle, the cup, cover and saucer engraved with monogram A.R in a shield, both marked throughout, the cup and cover also with later French control marks
