A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In good overall condition; a few minor intrinsic flaws, in the making, including a short firing line to the lady’s proper right temple and dark kiln speck just below her neck; some light scratches and wear throughout, consistent with age and handling, including a short scratch with some staining to the lower left of the speck below the lady’s neck; some tiny chips to raised areas, mostly to the flower petals along the lady’s garland and scattered areas where the drapery is thinnest; a small white accretion to the ribbon tying back the gentleman's hair; the reverse of each with some discoloration from contact with the nails that have held it in its frame. Please note: Christie’s does not guarantee the condition of frames.
